At the General & Medical Foundation, we believe that everyone deserves to live a happy life and that’s why we support those whose lives have been affected by medical conditions or disabilities.

Our vision is to change people’s lives for the greater good, offering individuals, families, groups and community’s financial support for their medical needs and equipment to help aid lives, which is vital to encouraging a healthy society.

Our Objective

Our objective is to support those whose lives have been adversely affected by disease, illness or injury. We are committed to assisting those in need and are pleased to offer grants* to individuals and organisations, as well as sports people and community-based organisations.

*All applications for grants are subject to eligibility.

Our Story

The Directors of the General & Medical Group, David Wildman and Gillian Close, have overseen the settlement of millions of pounds worth of medical insurance claims over the past 30 years so have personally seen how medical issues can affect people’s lives.

It’s this experience which has influenced them and spurred their aspiration to do something more to help support such individuals. So in 2016, they started the process to apply for registered charity status and in 2018 The General & Medical Foundation was established.

As well as David and Gillian making personal donations to the foundation themselves, a number of fundraising activities will be planned throughout the year, to raise awareness and raise money to help those applying for a grant. Find out more about how to apply here.
